Oceanside Rail Beach Day

Nothing says San Diego like a day at the beach! But did you know you can take the train there? At the second annual Rail Beach Day, ride the Metrolink, COASTER, or Amtrak's Surfliner to Oceanside to enjoy the sun and sand, and learn more about the threats and opportunities our regional transportation system is facing. Enjoy fun in the sun with new friends from throughout Southern California. Hosted by Californians for Electric Rail in partnership with San Diego Transit Month.

The group will meet at Oceanside (OTC) at noon. We recommend travelling from San Diego on COASTER train C675, which leaves Santa Fe Depot at 11 am and gets to Oceanside around noon.

Riding the COASTER or Metrolink to Oceanside will allow you to progress the Ride Contest "Highball!" badge, which requires logging a trip on the Blue, Green, Orange, and Copper Lines, COASTER, SPRINTER, and Metrolink. Additionally, logging a Metrolink trip will award the "East Brook Nights" Ride Contest badge.
