Join Public Transit Enthusiasts at UC San Diego (PTE@UCSD) for a morning on the Silver Line Vintage Trolley, which will run in a loop departing 12th & Imperial at :07 past each hour, starting at 9am.
The Vintage Trolley operating will be either the #529, a restored 1946 PCC streetcar of the same type as the San Diego Electric Railway (SDERy)'s streetcars, or the #1001, the first-ever modern San Diego Trolley car from 1980. You can read more about the #529 car in our BuildSD Journal. Both vehicles are meticulously restored and now service the Silver Line on select holidays. However, as with any piece of vintage equipment, mechanical issues do occur, so we encourage getting to 12th & Imperial for one of the first few trips of the day!
We will meet before the 9am trip at 12th & Imperial Station. Get to the event via transit, with routes 4, 12, Blue, Orange, Green, 901, and 929 serving 12th & Imperial.
Approximate times (minutes past the hour) at each station stop are:
:07 12th & Imperial (depart)
:09 Gaslamp Quarter
:10 Convention Center
:12 Seaport Village
:20 America Plaza (depart)
:22 Civic Center
:24 Fifth Avenue
:26 City College
:29 Park & Market
:32 12th & Imperial (arrive)
Attending the event and/or logging a Silver Line trip will unlock the exclusive "Continuing the Legacy" Ride Contest badge, which is inspired by the historic #529 car!
