A 791 Bedroom student housing building is being planned for San Diego City College, on what is currently a parking lot on campus there are plans for affordable housing downtown for their college students. This project, originally proposed as a 13 story building, now a 7 story 5/1 style building is in planning awaiting further funding for the project. However money was granted to plan the project, and to demolish a small structure on the property.

The project will consist of 83 Studios, 42 Two Bedrooms, and 157 Four Bedroom units. As is common in student housing, each bedroom would be rented separately. sharing a common space being the living room, kitchen, bathrooms, ect. The design on the ground floor calls for a central courtyard area, mail and package rooms, a lobby with coffee and places to work, a "grab and go" cafe for students with quick meals and snacks. bike parking, a study room, community kitchen, and more.

Every floor contains laundry, a study room, a lounge room with vending machines, and the top floor including a roof deck. This roof deck has basic amenities generally being a lounge area just with rooftop views.

The property is located along the Pershing Bikeway on C Street, and is a short walk away from City College Station, which has 2 Trolley services and many bus connections. It is also a short walk from cafes and stores in Golden Hill. Unfortunately this project is next to an elevated highway, being Interstate 5. However if well planned this should not be an issue.
