One Alexandria Square is a new office, lab, events and meeting center located off North Torrey Pines. Located across said road from the renowned Torrey Pines Golf Course, the complex includes 80,000 square feet of lab and office space, of which 40% is dedicated for labs and 60% is dedicated for office space. The project is a complete overhaul and replacement of an existing office complex.
The project was spearheaded by Alexandria Real Estate, a life science developer. The Salk Institute inspired design was fleshed out by the firm NBBJ. Construction, headed by Redwood City based DPR Construction, began in 2022 and concluded in 2025. Among the lab space is a 13,000 square foot basement vivarium which will be operated by Explora. For events, this venue has a capacity of 350 people. Amenities include a restaurant, pickleball courts, and 1.5 Acres of Open Space populated by native plant life. This is one of five major Alexandria properties in the UTC and Sorrento Valley area; they include Campus Point, The Alexandria at Torrey Pines, Torrey Ridge, and San Diego Tech Center. This project represents the continued investment into San Diego’s life sciences and biotech industries by real estate developers.
