Chelsea Investments plans to construct a 126 unit apartment complex on the SDSU Mission Valley site. It will be the first dedicated affordable housing project on the former site of Qualcomm Stadium, which currently features Snapdragon Stadium, River Park, the Green Line’s Stadium Station, and the under construction Avalon Mission Valley mixed use apartment complex.

Beyond its planned 126 units, Chelsea plans including a dedicated child care center for the entire community. In the next phase of development Chelsea plans on building an additional 109 units to provide more than half of the 460 affordable units on the site. On July 21st, the project was awarded a grant from SANDAG and the San Diego Foundation of $1 Million.
Chelsea’s plans represent just one part of the SDSU Mission Valley Campus, which is expected to have roughly 4,600 units of housing, over 1 million square feet of research space, 95,000 square feet of retail and a hotel. It will enable SDSU to add up to 15,000 new students.
