Treehouse is an eight story, 107-unit mixed-use residential development nearing completion in western Bankers Hill. The project site combined three previously disconnected single family housing lots on the southeast corner of the 1st Avenue/Maple Street intersection. It lies directly on top of MTS’ Bus Route 11.
The project was developed by Dana Point-based Raintree Partners, who is also delivering the nearby Flora+Fauna in southern Bankers Hill and the proposed Dos Lunas in Encinitas. The architect is BDE Architecture, and the contractor is ECON Construction. Demolition of all structures was complete by March of 2024, and building completion is scheduled for Winter of 2025.

Of note architecturally is the eighth floor roof deck with sweeping views of San Diego Bay and the Airport, adorned with a steel trellis evoking the development’s name. Treehouse will also have a fitness center and spa deck on lower levels, as well as covered parking. The first floor on the site’s corner will also contain for lease commercial space.

Like most other new projects in the Uptown San Diego area, Treehouse falls under the Complete Communities Housing Program allowing for higher density.
